Privacy Policy

This document is provided in English; the English version governs.本文件以英文提供,以英文版本为准。
This Privacy Policy explains what information PutFinder ("we", "us") collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. PutFinder is an independent, solo-built research project based in Washington, United States.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google or an email magic link, we receive your email address (and, for Google sign-in, your basic profile such as name, as provided by Google).
- Usage data you create — such as the tickers you star into a watchlist, tickers you analyze, and your preferences (e.g. language).
- Payment and subscription information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor Stripe shares with us your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, billing history, and payment status (for example, active, past due, or canceled). We do not store your complete payment card number — Stripe holds and processes your card details directly.
- Technical and attribution data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, standard server logs (IP address, request paths, timestamps, user-agent), and limited attribution data such as the landing page, campaign tag, and referring domain used to understand which channels bring visitors who sign up.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not ask for or store brokerage credentials or financial-account details.
2. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and secure the Service and to authenticate you;
- to personalize features (watchlist, analyze history, preferences);
- to process your subscription and payments, and to provide billing-related support;
- to send you service-related email (for example, a sign-in link, billing receipt, payment-failure notice, or security notification);
- to monitor, debug, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
Where the law requires a stated legal basis for processing (for example, the EEA/UK GDPR), we rely on: performance of our contract with you, to provide and bill the Service; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service and in preventing abuse; and, for marketing communications where consent is required by applicable law, your consent.
3. Email communications
We send two kinds of email. Transactional and service email — for example, a sign-in link, a billing receipt, a payment-failure notice, or a security notification — is necessary to operate your account and is not optional while you have one. Optional email — such as product updates, research digests, marketing, and promotional messages — may be sent where permitted by applicable law. Where consent is required, we will obtain it before sending such messages. You can unsubscribe from optional email at any time.
You can manage these preferences at any time from your account's email-preferences page. Opting out of optional email does not opt you out of transactional or service email tied to an account you keep open.
4. Cookies
We use a first-party session cookie ("pf_daily") to keep you signed in after you authenticate, and a separate first-party cookie ("pf_attr") that notes — once, the first time you visit — which page you landed on and, if you arrived via a link with a campaign tag or from another site, that campaign tag and the other site's domain name (never the full referring page, and not intended to include personal information). We use it only to understand in aggregate which channels bring visitors who sign up; it is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and does not track you across other sites. A third cookie ("pf_lang_choice") carries your EN/中文 language choice from this site to your account when you sign in; it is short-lived in practice — read once and then cleared by our server. These cookies are used only for authentication, preferences, security, and limited first-party analytics/attribution. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. An anti-abuse challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile) may run on certain forms.
5. Service providers we use
We rely on the following categories of third parties to run the Service:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure — the servers and content-delivery network that run the Service;
- Authentication and database services — signing you in (including third-party sign-in, described above) and storing your account and app data;
- Email delivery — sending the transactional and optional email described above;
- Analytics and security — anti-abuse protection and aggregate usage analytics (see "Cookies" above);
- Payment processing — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store complete payment card numbers;
- Market-data providers — options-chain and price data that powers the screener.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above to operate the Service, or where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of PutFinder, our users, or the public.
7. Data retention
We keep your account information and app data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see "Your choices and rights"). Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging. We retain billing and transaction records for as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, which may extend beyond the life of your account.
8. Your choices and rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing contact@putfinder.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal data; we will honor applicable rights. You can also stop using the Service and sign out at any time.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (for example, authentication is handled by our identity provider and access is limited). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International users
PutFinder is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here. If required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
